We previously shared back in December that Michael Mulgrew and the rest of UFT’s Unity leadership decided to waste YOUR dues money on having a white shoe law firm harass ABC with frivolous cease and desist letters intended to intimidate us.
Bravo! He did not win the last election by a landslide. Maybe ABC and the other parties should combine for the next election and get them out once and for all.
Refreshing to see grassroots members push back against internal legal intimidation. The strategic flip here is compelling: using cease-and-desist letters against critics typically counts on those critics lacking resources to respond. When the target has boththe will and funding to counter legally, the whole tactic backfires. Curious whether this sets precedent for other reformist caucuses facing similar pressure.
