This is absolutely disgusting. As Union members this act should be condemned soundly. It speaks volumes about the behaviors of our leadership. The silence just amplifies the egregiousness of the their position.
Sadly, the hatred toward women by that faction at UFT includes bullies who are ageist, as well. Try speaking up at a DA as a retiree. Frankly, our chapter leader is often left to his own device before the DA, as compared with the deference shown and kissy-lovey posturings for Tom Murphy, our past retiree Quisling.
I'm so horrified to get paraphernalia emails and emails about marching in Pride before hearing about them dealing with this. It is very upsetting.
I thought the same thing when I received the pride emails.
