We as UFT members are all entitled to voice our opinions. Threatening litigation based on a disagreement with any opinion shows a tactic we all abhor, Bullying! I pay union dues and keep an open mind to all members views. I did it as a CL and continue to do so as a retiree for any working or retiree members who contact me. Leadership should do the same.

I do not remember much of what I learned about Trademark law in law school 44 years ago, but I think someone should at least check if the trademark claim made in the arbitration was that it was registered. Perhaps the cost of the arbitration might be recouped.
True bullying style, Mulgrew takes center stage and will not share the spotlight, nor cede an inch to retiree members’ needs, or, indeed, life-saving, promised and paid for, rights. A bully who has done wrong, does not wish to have reminders of the wrong—it is elementary school level social-emotional “thinking.” All reminders of wrongs pierce the defensive wall. Speaking as a counseling provider, working with bullies in the school setting is precisely the same as with our current UFT leader: expose the wrongdoing—ask him/her to evaluate the effects; ask the wrong doer to imagine him/herself in the role of the “victim,” and reach as far down to the putative conscience as possible, to ask for redress.
We would/ have exposed an errant and wrongful City of New York as our employer; perhaps it is also not time to lay it out, for our Union, which appears to be precisely what Mulgrew fears. Document!

It's been over 6 months since the UFT general election, and Unity just can't get ABC out of their heads.
