Marianne... you are our savior, a fighter who fights for those who may not be able to fight for themselves. My husband and I worked for the DOE from the late 1960's until 2005. We are both 79 now and both not well. We hope and pray that you will prevail in your efforts. Please know how grateful we are for you. Arlene Dobren
Mamdani needs to come out against MA for anyone, ESPECIALLY city workers. This is his opportunity to lead by example throughout the US. It is essential to his campaign promises that I supported that he lives up to this.
I voted for and support Mamdani, and he needs to make good on his promise to protect Medicare. I'm not thrilled that he hired many of the people who tried to stick us into Medicare Advantage.
Actives take note: The high medical needs landscape may seem to be on a very distant horizon but it's not nearly as distant as you think.(How fast have the years gone since, say, you were ten?) And there's this from a long ago college class: Past + Future=Present. What we learn(or don't) plus what we hope to have, must work with present action; the future rarely takes care of itself. Traditional Medicare and especially with our earned city provided Medicap plan is hands down the best chance for quality medical coverage and for medical care determined by you and your doctor, not algorithms or committees. It also evens the geographical landscape; traditional Medicare is not bound by the region you happen to live in. Ensuring that traditional Medicare is an available choice and is a legislated option in NYC and NYS protects us all-actives and current retirees alike.

Thank you for all you do, Marianne. We are indebted to you for taking the time and effort to fight for this for all of us.

I agree with the points in this article. Mr. Mamdani should step-up. Seniors in NYC are watching.
You go, Marianne! And thanks…
I think Mamdani is “ in bed “ with the Michael Mulgrew and MLC just as our former mayor was. He needed their endorsement and votes in order to win
